Amiria Puia Taylor

I am Tutu, People Weaver, Placemaker & Cultural Arts Manager. I am passionate about serving my hapu, iwi, and community through culture and creativity. I love weaving places and spaces in the hopes of our whenua, moana, and overall taiao being protected for the next seven generations to come. With the support of whanau upbringing, formal and self-taught training, I have gained over 18 years of experience in the creative industries from front of house to archives to graphic design to governance. This experience has afforded me the opportunity to lead and support the establishment of a variety of Not for Profit arts organisations in the hope of inspiring the next generation.

What does leadership look like to you?

Being a good tupuna today.

How does your community show up in your practice?

In everything, they are the backbone of my entire career, my practice, and most importantly my existence.
